Excellent! I'm unbelievably grateful to be one of those few who for some reason, got it the first time, 38 years ago.

Thanks, ODAT, by the grace of God! Somehow He planted deep within me the desire for sobriety, and gave me supportive people around me. I know I've not had it really hard like some folks.

I read this before & just wanted to read it again. Such a well written & encouraging post. I’ve had a challenging week but I’m still sober. Healing takes time but it’s worth it. Thanks for sharing with us Shane. 🙏

Glad to hear you stayed sober during a tough week, Jason. I wrote that essay after hearing someone share their pain and frustration with coming back over and over after relapsing and just not seeming to get it. What she didn't hear in her own share – and the same may be true for you and others – is that there is strength in the declaration that you're tired. There is strength in saying I've had a hard week, and there's certainly strength in staying sober through that. I applaud you, my brother.

We’ve been walking this journey alongside one another for many years now and I'm honored to continue. You’ve got my number - reach out if you need an ear.

Yes, yes, yes!!! The power of relentless curiosity to eventually discover the shifts and the doing it differently that moves the needle so to speak. “Stuck is just where hope got quieter” - love that line. What every sober person has in common is not giving up. 💕

Wow, Ruth that last line needs to be on a t-shirt! "What every sober person has in common is not giving up. 💕"

That sums it up perfectly 💯
